Volunteering in our projects

We cooperate with various establishments, all of which are easily accessible from our hostel. On your first day of your volunteering, we will bring you there and show you how to get there the next days.

The projects we offer are all well evaluated, and we also visit them regularly to ensure a lasting impact to the society and that everything is working well. We are always in good communication with all the projects, their managers and the people around and work together with them happily already for more than 2 years.

On top of that, 50 USD of the money you pay go directly to the project you volunteer for! This ensures them a financial support for their daily needs, as you will see when you reach there. To start your adventure, you get an Orientation tour through the city

Of course, you're also welcome to immerse yourself in several projects, or support the projects through fundraising campaigns - everything is possible, nothing is mandatory. Our goal hereby is: intercultural exchange and learning.

English, French, Sports or Maths Teacher (primary and secondary schools):

Poor children between the ages of 6 to 15 years don’t get a good education due to a lack of support and money. You will teach them basic English to guarantee them a better future, prepare meals for them, help with their homework or just play with them and be there. You can decide if you prefer primary or secondary schools to teach them.

Women Rescue Home, Women Empowerment or Community Outreach Projects:

Dispensary Clinic for HIV patients, victims of female genital mutilation or rape with pregnancy and family planning)

We cooperate with 2 different women projects dealing with the same topics. They are a safe house and home for victims of gender-based violence of any kind - mostly they ran away from child marriages and early pregnancies. Many of these girls are already impregnated or have babies and children, who also live in the safe home. Once a week, you drive to schools and maasai villages, to educate the people about HIV, gender-based violence, family planning and female genitale mutilation and the consequences. The girls and women can talk freely to you and you can hold speeches about these important topics, telling them their rights and empower their self-esteem.

Orphancare:

This beautiful orphanage with playground outside exists now since 1996 and has roundabout 65 children from 0-25 years old who reeeally need your love and attention - they love to play or just snuggle, they go to school and might need help there or just with their everyday needs and homework. They already look forward to play with you! Also they have their own big farm with cows, goats, chicken, pigs, vegetables, corn fields and much more - helping hands are aaaalways welcome! And still many of those children still need sponsors for school, such that they are able to get a good education.

Daycare and Rescue Home for special needs children:

These fantastic institutions deal with mental or physically disabled children from 2 to 18 years. They can go to school there, do education like sewing, tailoring, baking or drawing pictures such that they can find work to survive. They get a very good therapy such as physical therapy, sports classes, dancing, playing football and having muuuch fun in moving and playing around! Therapists, nurses or doctors are most welcome to learn from each other. You also go walking, swimming, dancing, cooking with them or just play and have fun.

Kindergarden/ Daycare: (1,5 years to 6 years old)

You will prepare the meals for the kids and feed the young ones, play with them and just be there for them, help with their homework, draw pictures, play on their playground or just cuddle the babies and toddlers and fill their faces with big smiles.

Environmental project: tree planting, Nanofilter & Biogas

We cooperate with the Nanofilter House in Arusha, which is building and installing water filters to ensure the people a safe and clean drinking water. The water in Tanzania has a very high level of fluoride, which causes severe bone deformities and also teeth problems and other infections like typhoid or hepatitis. Thats why they help the people get clean drinking water! You will help installing or exchanging the filters in maasai villages or just help them to promote, what they are doing. They also invent renewable energies such as biogas out of cowdung, thats reeeeally interesting! Also sometimes, we go to maasai villages to plant fruit trees there, such that they can have something to eat and we explain them the importance of our environment together.

Animal Welfare: Dogs, Cats and Goats Rescue Shelter and Veterinary Clinic:

Street dogs and cats are often hurt by accidents, have diseases or are not vaccinated against any kind of illness. So they need help and good care to grow in a happy life!

                                                   Social Impact of our projects

Our vision is, to help the community of Africa. Not just help them temporarily but to help them help themselves better. This can only be done together, that’s why we need you. We also wish to show you the t r u e Africa with its true people and show you this wonderful but also very different culture. Come visit us and we show you the beauty of this wonderful place of earth.

On top of that we aim to teach English to poor children, such that they can have a future and good education means also a good job.

Furthermore we aim to educate the women and also the men (starting in school) about hygienical issues, menstruation and sexual diseases like HIV or explain them about how not to get pregnant in a young age to ensure a better future for the girls.

My personal goal as a therapist is of course also to help those in need such as people with diseases or special need children, because their life is hard itself but in a poor country without any chance of earning money it’s even harder.

On top of that, 50 USD of the money you pay go directly to the project you volunteer for! This ensures them a financial support for their daily needs, as you will see when you reach there.

And we will truly put you into projects that really need help and also give you an impact of this wonderful African culture.
